Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
